Hawaiian Airlines Baggage Policies



Checked Baggage Policy



For continental U.S. – Hawaii itineraries:



There is a $15 fee each way for the first checked bag. There is a $25 fee each way for a second checked bag.

Checked Pieces Charge
1st piece $15
2nd piece $25
3rd-6th piece $100
7th+ piece $200

The following customers are exempt from the second checked bag fee:
  • HawaiianMiles Pualani Platinum, Gold and Premier Club members
  • Corporate and Affiliate members
  • Customers traveling in First Class
  • Customers traveling on military and government fares
  • Customers flying on the same reservation as someone with exempt status, regardless of HawaiianMiles status or fare type. (Does not apply to group bookings of 10 or more passengers)
  • Customers traveling to or from Pago Pago, Samoa / Papeete, Tahiti / Sydney, Australia and Manila, Philippines

The following items are exempt from excess bag fees:

  • assistive devices (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes)
  • infant items (e.g., strollers, carriers, infant car seats)
  • pre-packed agriculturally inspected Hawaiian papayas & pineapples on flights departing from Hawaii only (<10 lbs.)


OVERWEIGHT BAGGAGE



If the bag weights more than 50 lbs but less than 70 lbs., there is a $25 charge. Hawaiian will not accept any baggage which weighs more than 70lbs.

Excess pieces are accepted on space available basis only, and Hawaiian Airlines is not responsible for ground delivery at point to where excess piece(s) is checked.

OVERSIZE BAGGAGE



An "oversized" baggage is defined as a bag whose maximum outside linear dimensions exceed 62 inches but not more than 80 inches and weighs not more than 50 pounds.

The charge for an oversized bag may depend on what you are transporting. Please check our Contract of Carriage for specific information on charges for special items.

For interisland itineraries:



There is a $17 fee each way for a second checked bag.
