Disneyland with a BabyDisneyland with a BabyPeople always want to know if it is worth the money to take a baby to Disneyland. Even you probably found this article because you searched the web for Traveling with a baby to Disneyland or Advice for taking a baby to Disneyland. I have been to Disneyland hundreds of times and typically go every 3 weeks. I took both of our kids to Disneyland since my daughter was 3 months old. Contrary to popular belief, babies are not too young for Disneyland. Watching their young faces light up when you walk inside the park and down main street is one of my favorite memories. The key to a fun filled trip to Disneyland with an infant is to start slowly and let your baby set the pace. All babies have different tolerances. Some will like rides and characters, and others will scream and cry. Start your Disneyland vacation with the safe bets; the parades, Mickey and Minnie's houses, Donald's Boat and Goofy's Playhouse because they don't move. If your baby or toddler begins to squirm outside Minnie's House when she sees Minnie, just walk right on by and into the house skipping the photo. Sure, it would have been great to have that perfect Disneyland photo as a souvenir but it wasn't going to happen anyway. Be careful and remember what you want might not fit your baby's Disneyland theme park tolerance yet. If your little one likes a little excitement Disneyland's Dumbo, King Arthur Carousel, Storybook Land, Casey Jr Train, It's a Small World, Pooh's Ride, the Main Street vehicles, the railroad and the Monorail are all very mild. For the daring Disneyland baby there is the Mad Tea Party (just don't spin your cup), the Jungle Cruise (beware of the gun shot when the hippos are in sight), Peter Pan, Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, Alice in Wonderland and the Astro Orbiter. Stay away from some of the Disneyland rides that sound like they would be good for babies and toddlers; Pinocchio's Daring Journey, Snow White's Scary Adventures, Pirates of the Caribbean, Enchanted Tiki Room, Mr Toad's Wild Ride, and Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. I have found that these rides are designed for young children or brave toddlers and have many scary elements like dead people, skeletons, explosions, loud noises, scary lighting, car rides through Hell...the list goes on and on. I have been to Disneyland with babies and toddlers that have gone on these attractions without incident, but more times than not they hate it. Most babies don't like Disneyland's Peter Pan's Flight and, for some reason, that is the ride that most parent rush to take their baby on first. Slowly acclimate your baby to the Disneyland attractions and don't jump right on a moving ride to see if they will like it. Disneyland is a new and fantastic world for babies and toddlers and they will already be over stimulated. Let Uptake.com help you find Family Accommodations in Los Angeles |
