Disney World with a Baby

People always want to know if it is worth the money to take a baby to Walt Disney World. Even you probably found this article because you searched the web for Traveling with a baby to Walt Disney World or Advice for taking a baby to Disney World.

I have been to Disneyland hundreds of times and typically go every 3 weeks. Disney World InfantDisney World is about the same as Disneyland when it comes to babies and I took both of our kids since my daughter was 3 months old. Contrary to popular belief, babies are not too young for Disney World. Watching their young faces light up when you walk inside the park and down main street is one of my favorite memories.

The key to a fun filled trip to Disney World with an infant is to start slowly and let your baby set the pace. All babies have different tolerances. Some will like rides and characters, and others will scream and cry. Start with the safe bets; the parades, railroad, Mickey and Minnie's houses and Donald's Boat because they don't move. If your baby or toddler begins to squirm outside Minnie's House when she sees Minnie, just walk right on by and into the house skipping the photo. Sure, it would have been great to have that perfect photo as a souvenir but it wasn't going to happen anyway. Be careful and remember what you want might not fit your baby's theme park tolerance yet.

If your little one likes a little excitement Dumbo, Aladdin's Magic Carpet, Cinderella's Carousel, It's a Small World, Pooh's Ride, the Main Street vehicles, and the railroad are all very mild. For the daring there is the Mad Tea Party (just don't spin your cup), the Jungle Cruise (beware of the gun shot when the hippos are in sight), and Peter Pan.

Most babies don't like Peter Pan's Flight and, for some reason, that is the ride that most parent rush to take their baby on first. Slowly acclimate your baby to the Disney attractions and don't jump right on a moving ride to see if they will like it. Disney World is a new and fantastic world for babies and toddlers and they will already be over stimulated.
