NOTICE
On March 1st, 2005 most US airlines changed their baggage allowances and began assessing fees for overweight, oversize and excess luggage.
The average airline fees are as follows:
$25-85 for overweight bags, as little as 33lbs.
$50-160 for oversize bags, as little as 62 total inches.
$25-200 for more luggage than your free allowance.
All of these charges can be combined, so a 51lb bag that is 63 total inches and is your 3rd piece of luggage can easily cost $250.
